Household Hazardous Waste Facility to Open for 2008 Season
March 28, 2008

The Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will open April 1 for the 2008 season. The facility accepts hazardous products from residential users at no charge from residents of Blue Earth, Nicollet, Sibley and LeSueur Counties. Located at 651 Summit Avenue, the facility is open every Tue. through the end of Oct. from noon to 6 p.m. The Facility is also open the second Sat. of each month, through Oct.
The Product Reuse Center is open the same hours as the HHW Facility. At the Product Reuse Center, people at least 18 years of age may select good, useable products that have been brought to the Facility by others. There is no charge for any of the materials at the Product Reuse Center, but quantities may be limited. No hazardous wastes from farms, businesses, churches, schools or other institutions are accepted through the household program.

The most common products brought to the HHW Facility include paints, solvents, aerosols and yard and garden chemicals. For a more extensive listing of materials, visit the Blue Earth County website at www.co.blue-earth.mn.us.
